Fantastic park! Can accommodate people of all ages and abilities. Rangers are very helpful. Was able to learn a lot about the geological history of the area. The trails are a lot of fun to explore! Would like to see a few more trails established if possible.
Absolutely beautiful campsite!!! Nice people, big sites, lots of grass. Badlands National Park a must see. Saw just about every form of wildlife. Just amazing. Can't wait to return.
Beautiful landscape, abundant wildlife. Bison roam free, especially seen on road to Sage Creek campgrounds as well as big horned sheep. Door trail at sunset is stunning. Window trail is more of an overlook than a hike. Excellent park that does not get the recognition it deserves. Crazy horse memorial is a couple hours away and worth a visit if staying near park
We drove from UT and it was well worth it. The Badlands offers breath taking views and several easy short hikes. The park is open access so you can hike anywhere and everywhere. The park has lots of look outs so if hiking isn't for you you can drive the park and still see amazing views.
Outstanding. We drove through the park and hit up many of the scenic overlooks, and hiked the Door trail (including the rugged part after the boardwalk ends), the Notch trail, and the Medicine Root and Castle Trail loop. This Badlands is probably best for a 1-2 day visit, but it will be an incredible 1-2 days.
