Loved visiting Lucy! She is a beloved icon of Atlantic City and well worth the visit. Very whimsical and would be terrific for kids. We did not climb it but looked like fun. Located near the beach so could combine with a walk and lunch. A restaurant across the street opens around 11.
To be honest, I wanted to see it, but I wasn't expecting much. It ended up being much better than I expected. On a December afternoon it wasn't crowded- just a few other people. The main inside area was surprisingly large and we watched a nice movie about the history. The observation area had very nice views. Overall a very cool and unique experience for the kids. Some tight stairs to climb, but not too bad.
Gotta see this ! !!! ♡♡♡♡♡♡ !!!!!! Man woman or child,...see this "Quiet Giant"! This "ELEPHANT", is something I remember from childhood (long time ago) and I have revisited often enough! Truly if You are visiting the Jersey Shore area (AC , Ocean City , or further ) and have little ones,....I dare say that this "Lucy" would be as memorable as meeting the "real" Rudolph the Red Nose Raindear,or Big Bird ! To a child it is a "wonder of their world"! 90 feet tall? And in season enter and look out from the platform on Lucy's Back :) ♡ ☆ !!!!!
Best historic place to stop at the Jersey Shore! Amazing creation! Awesome history! Beautifully maintained! Wonderful staff! Magnificent view from the top! Family friendly! Great way to take up part of the day. Guided tours for a nominal fee. Check hours as they change seasonally. Enter through one of the legs. See the memorabilia and sign the guest book on the main level. Go up to the top to take advantage of the view and grab a couple of pictures. Go back down and out through the other leg. Totally worth a visit! I have been here three times... Every time Lucy has been grateful to have company. Make sure you take the time to go visit her.
It's good for visiting with family and kids love the view and tour. Try to take deals coupon to before going to start your visit at the time you visit else one has to wait 25 mins for guide and tour.
