I love sea life. The majesty of snorkeling in the Cayman reefs is something I'll never forget. They put allot of effort into reproducing that. Though I do appreciate the educational aspect, I didn't leave with sense of awe I thought I would have. Of course as an adult if you want to have "fun" you'll have to spend extra on things like snorkeling in the fake Reef and riding a boat with the dolphins. To be honest I had more fun in the Ripley's Believe It or Not museum in Orlando. But if I were five years old I would give it 6 stars out of 5.
Overall fun venture - decent admission price. Beautiful viewing tanks with a huge display of various species. Small kids and adults will enjoy the experience. Even if you have a love for the ocean and find yourself snorkeling/diving regularly...you will enjoy the experience. Took a little over an hour or so to comfortably walk through the aquarium. Times did not allow us to take the dolphin boat tour but this may be an added addition to consider for your plans. Worth the visit! :)
Great aquarium! They have such pretty habitations and a nice variety of animals! I loved getting to pet the sting rays and learn about them! The otter exhibit is very entertaining and there was usually a crowd surrounding it for that reason! The cafe, photo booth, and gift shop were great additions! I really enjoyed my visit!!!
This place was amazing. The otters were spectacular, they really liked performing for the crowd, back flips and everything! The shark petting tank was also exciting, not to mention the ENORMOUS large shark tank, with the incredibly thick glass. All in all, I would say this is a must for anyone visiting the area. We spent the week in Florida with 2 days at Disney, and this was a perfect attraction to pass the time.
I attended a wedding there a few weeks ago and I would never use this facility for anything other than to bring a group of people to walk through and check out all of the animal displays. There were supposed to be 65 people in attendance and there were less and 40 and the facility pretty much ran out of food! We went through the buffet line and didn't know that there was prime rib being sliced at the end of the line. I didn't want to put prime rib on top of my mashed potatoes and salad so I took the plate back to the table. When I went to go back up to get the prime rib, the prime rib was GONE! They said that they "might be able to find some in back" and brought out a few thin pieces. The bar was supposed to be an open bar, but we could barely get a full shot in any of our drinks. The bartender was pouring the drinks down low, so we couldn't see what he was doing, but when my cranberry juice is that red - I know there is not much dilution. There was a "photo booth" which was nothing more than a sheet with some props and a girl taking 3 pictures. It was not fun, like a real photo booth. The facility itself was beautiful and I will go back there. But I will never suggest to anyone to have an event or dinner there.
